BestCoat PU714 is a two-component, solvent-based polyurethane protective coating with excellent UV and weather resistance — a protective finish for indoor and outdoor surfaces.

Substrate requirements
- Flat, crack-free, non-porous wall; permitted moisture ≤ 4%
- True corners and straight edge beads
- Remove soil, rotten wood, metal from the surface; degrease with BestThinner SC-01
- Repair cracks/defects with dedicated BestBond, BestRepair
Step-by-step procedure

Check substrate conditions
Concrete must reach at least 20 MPa compressive strength, 1.5 MPa pull-off tensile strength and no more than 4% moisture, tested with a method suitable for the substrate.

Level and prepare the surface
Repair defects with compatible materials, profile and clean; the surface must be sound, dry and free of dust, grease and weakly bonded layers.

Apply BestPrimer PU40S
Mix and apply BestPrimer PU40S at 0.15 – 0.30 kg/m² under the current TDS.

First PU714 coat
When the primer is within its recoat window, apply the first BestCoat PU714 coat at 0.15 – 0.25 kg/m².

Finishing PU714 coat
Apply the second PU714 coat at 0.15 – 0.25 kg/m² within the recoat window. The substrate must be at least 5°C above dew point and relative humidity no more than 80%.
PU40S primer at 0.15 – 0.30 kg/m² plus two PU714 coats at 0.15 – 0.25 kg/m² each; indicative total system use is 0.45 – 0.80 kg/m².

What is BestCoat PU714 for?
A polyurethane protective topcoat with UV and weather resistance — to protect and finish concrete/metal walls, floors and partitions indoors and outdoors. It is a protective coating, not a roof waterproofing membrane.
Does PU714 need a primer?
Yes. The standard system uses BestPrimer PU40S at 0.15 – 0.30 kg/m² followed by two BestCoat PU714 coats; technical review is needed for unusual substrates.
Can PU714 be used outdoors?
Yes. PU714 has excellent UV and weather resistance, suitable for outdoor industrial, marine and construction items.
