Public technical guidance

This page is selection and sequencing guidance, not a project method statement. The current product TDS, approved design, site assessment and trial application take precedence; structural anchors, cracks, water-retaining structures and other safety-critical work require qualified technical review.

Applicable for

  • Replacing water curing for concrete right after pouring
  • Concrete cast under harsh conditions or demanding work items
  • Mass concrete pours requiring good curing to limit surface cracking
  • Tunnel concrete works
  • Floor slab concrete needing a uniform surface color

Substrate requirements

  • The concrete surface must be clean, free of dust, mud and grease
  • No standing water on the surface during application; for horizontal surfaces wait until all bleed water has evaporated

Step-by-step procedure

  1. 1

    Vertical surfaces: dampen and spray-coat

After stripping the formwork, evenly dampen the whole concrete with clean water and let it drain. Apply BestCure SS015 with a sprayer (preferred) or a brush, fully covering the entire surface.

  2. 2

Horizontal surfaces: spray right after floating

Spray BestCure SS015 immediately after floating the surface, once all bleed water has evaporated. Keep no standing water, never apply below the guided dosage, and apply as early as possible once the concrete is ready.

  3. 3

    Protect the sprayed surface

Protect the fresh application from rain, ponding, dust and mechanical damage. In hot sun or drying wind, shading and supplementary curing must follow the approved concrete-curing plan rather than one generic temperature threshold.

  4. 4

    Clean the tools

Clean application tools and equipment with clean water right after finishing the work, before the material hardens.

Total consumption

BestCure SS015 coverage is 8 – 12 m²/L depending on texture and absorption; spray evenly to full coverage when the concrete begins to firm and bleed water has evaporated.

Common questions

Which compound should I use to cure freshly poured concrete?

Use BestCure SS015, a polysilicate-based curing compound. Sprayed onto fresh concrete, it forms a thin microcrystalline film that seals surface pores, cuts water evaporation and lets the cement hydrate fully.

What is the dosage of BestCure SS015?

About 8 – 12 m²/L depending on texture and absorption. On horizontal concrete, spray only after bleed water evaporates, with even coverage and no standing water.

Can subsequent coatings be applied over a surface cured with BestCure SS015?

Yes. BestCure SS015 is specifically intended for surfaces that will receive further construction steps, and it does not break down and impair performance the way resin-based curing compounds can.
