Application instruction
SURFACE PREPARATION:
The surface must be clean, sound, with moisture content ≤ 4%, free from oil, grease, dust, moss, laitance, etc.
If moisture content > 4%, a moisture-resistant primer such as BestPrimer EP703 must be used.
Surface defects (cracks, voids, etc.) must be repaired and patched using suitable BestRepair products from Bestmix (contact technical support for proper recommendations).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Coating system:
Primer: Use suitable polyurethane- or epoxy-based BestPrimer products such as BestPrimer PU40S, BestPrimer EP601, BestPrimer EP602, BestPrimer EP603, BestPrimer EP701, BestPrimer EP702, BestPrimer EP703.
Main coating: A minimum of 2 coats of BestSeal PUA802 is recommended. For areas requiring root resistance, high abrasion resistance, or chemical resistance, a minimum dry film thickness of 1.50 mm is recommended.
Mixing:
Before application, Components A and B must be thoroughly mixed at the correct ratio using a low-speed mixer (300–400 rpm). The minimum mixing time is 2–3 minutes until a uniform consistency is achieved.
To ensure proper homogeneity, Component B should be pre-mixed first, then Component A should be added slowly into Component B while mixing continuously.
To avoid air entrapment, the mixing paddle must remain fully immersed in the material throughout the mixing process, and the mixing speed must be maintained at 300–400 rpm.
Application:
Apply the mixed BestSeal PUA802 onto the prepared substrate using a rake, rubber squeegee, brush, or spraying equipment. Pour a sufficient amount onto the surface, spread evenly, then continue pouring and repeating until completion.
At overlap joints (between existing and new application areas), apply freshly mixed material with lower viscosity and overlap approximately 10–15 cm onto the previous layer (while it is still not fully cured) to ensure a smooth joint.
Apply subsequent coats after 5–6 hours, but not exceeding 6 hours.
For protective screed applications: broadcast clean, dry quartz sand onto the final wet layer of BestSeal PUA802 to create a rough surface.
Important note:
BestSeal PUA802 tends to yellow when exposed to direct sunlight. To meet aesthetic requirements for exposed applications, it is recommended to apply at least one coat of BestCoat PU714 at a consumption rate of 0.20–0.25 kg/m² per coat within 12 hours after the final layer of BestSeal PUA802.
CLEANING:
Clean tools and application equipment with BestThinner SC01 or a suitable solvent immediately after use and before the material hardens.
SAFETY:
BestSeal PUA802 may cause irritation to sensitive skin upon prolonged contact. Wear masks, gloves, and protective goggles when using the product.
The application area must be well-ventilated. Use ventilation fans if necessary and keep away from heat sources, flames, and sparks.
In case of contact with eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Avoid contact with food and household items. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of excess material in accordance with local regulations.
