Application instruction
SURFACE PREPARATION:
The substrate must be dry and free from dust, contaminants, grease, cement laitance, and old paint layers with poor adhesion that may affect the sealant bonding performance.
For weak substrates, highly deformable surfaces, or substrates with high residual moisture content: apply BestPrimer AC409 primer.
Note: The primer is intended to improve the service life of the sealed joint. The primer does not replace proper surface cleaning procedures or improve the substrate strength.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application:
Install backer rod according to the technical requirements of the joint and apply primer if necessary.
Load BestSeal MS500 into a suitable caulking gun and apply the sealant into the joint so that the sealant fully contacts both sides of the joint walls.
Completely fill the joint and avoid air entrapment during application.
It is recommended to apply masking tape along both sides of the joint before applying BestSeal MS500 to prevent staining, and remove the masking tape immediately after application while the sealant is still wet.
Note:
It can be overcoated with conventional façade coating systems. However, preliminary testing should be carried out to ensure compatibility.
Color may change due to exposure to chemicals, high temperatures, or UV radiation; however, the product performance will not be affected.
Do not use BestSeal MS500 on bitumen surfaces, natural rubber, EPDM rubber, or areas exposed to oil leakage, plasticizers, or solvents capable of dissolving the product.
Do not apply BestSeal MS500 onto damp or wet surfaces.
Do not allow BestSeal MS500 to come into contact with isocyanate compounds, solvent-based cleaners, release agents, or solvents.
CLEANING:
Use BestThinner SC01 to clean tools immediately after use and before the material begins to cure. Once cured, use appropriate mechanical methods for cleaning tools.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
BestSeal MS500 may cause allergic reactions on sensitive skin after prolonged contact. Gloves, masks, and safety goggles should be worn during application.
In case of contact with eyes, nose, mouth… rinse immediately several times with clean water before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.
Dispose of the product in accordance with local environmental protection and waste management regulations.
