Application instruction
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface to be waterproofed must be clean, sound, and free from oil, grease, dust, moss, mold, excess cement, and other contaminants, etc.
Surface defects (cracks, voids, etc.) must be repaired and patched using suitable specialized BestRepair products from Bestmix (contact technical support for advice).
Saturate the entire surface with clean water, but do not allow water to pond on the surface.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Mixing the product
The product is pre-mixed; simply stir well before use.
Application
BestSeal AC408 can be applied with a brush, short-nap roller, or a suitable sprayer.
To ensure waterproofing performance, BestSeal AC408 must be applied in at least 2 coats perpendicular to each other so that the material fully covers the surface to be waterproofed.
The waiting time between the 2 coats is 4-24 hours depending on weather, temperature, and ventilation conditions.
Note
For highly absorbent surfaces, when applying the first coat, BestSeal AC408 should be diluted with about 10-12% clean water by weight to enhance the penetration of the material deeper into the surface.
Do not apply more than the consumption rate of 1.2 kg/m² per coat.
For roof slab surfaces, a slope must be created before applying the waterproofing.
Do not apply in rainy conditions.
If it rains during application, stop work immediately and promptly cover the area just applied to protect it from direct exposure to rainwater.
For surface areas regularly subjected to mechanical impact during service, a cement-sand mortar layer should be applied 24-48 hours after the final coat to protect the BestSeal AC408 layer from mechanical impact that may damage the surface structure of the material.
If a protective mortar layer is not applied, the material must be cured for at least 7 days before use.
BestSeal AC408 self-cures in air and does not require water to moisten the surface after application.
