Application instruction
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface to be waterproofed must be clean, sound, and free from oil, grease, dirt, moss, mold, excess cement, and other contaminants, etc.
Surface defects (cracks, voids, etc.) must be repaired and patched using suitable specialized repair products from Bestmix (contact the technical support department for advice).
Saturate the entire surface with clean water, but do not allow water to pond on the surface.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Mixing:
- The product is pre-mixed; simply stir well before use.
Application:
- BestSeal AC400 Multi can be applied using a brush, a short-nap roller, or a suitable spraying machine.
- To ensure waterproofing performance, BestSeal AC400 Multi must be applied in at least 2 coats perpendicular to each other so that the material fully covers the surface to be waterproofed. The waiting time between the 2 coats is 4–24 hours depending on the weather, temperature, and ventilation conditions.
Note:
- For highly absorbent surfaces, when applying the first coat, BestSeal AC400 Multi should be diluted with about 5–10% clean water (by weight) in order to increase the penetration of the material deep into the surface.
- For roof slab surfaces, a slope must be created before waterproofing application.
- Do not apply in rainy conditions. If it rains during application, stop the work immediately and promptly cover the freshly applied area to protect it from direct exposure to rainwater.
- For surface areas regularly subjected to mechanical impact during use, a cement-sand mortar layer should be applied (24–48 hours after the final coat) to protect the BestSeal AC400 Multi layer from mechanical impacts that may damage the surface structure of the material.
- If no protective mortar layer is applied, the material must be cured for a minimum of 7 days before use; BestSeal AC400 Multi self-cures by air and does not require water to moisten the surface after application.
