Applications

  • BestPrimer EP702 has low viscosity and high penetration, making it suitable as an interfacial primer between substrates and epoxy protective coatings to improve bonding strength.

BestPrimer EP702 can be applied on concrete floors, cementitious renders, fiber cement boards, epoxy mortars, etc., in applications such as factories, warehouses, and parking garages.

Application instruction

SURFACE PREPARATION

  • The substrate must meet the minimum strength requirements (compressive strength ≥ 20 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa).

  • The surface must be level, sound, and free from standing water. Any ponded areas must be dried using a clean cloth.

  • All contaminants such as debris, dust, oil, grease, algae, and mold must be properly removed.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Coating system:

  • For highly absorbent or weak substrates, dilute the first coat with 10% clean water (by weight) and apply at least 2 primer coats before applying epoxy coatings from the BestCoat range.

  • For smooth, dense substrates with moderate roughness, apply 1 coat of BestPrimer EP702 after proper surface preparation.

  • For surfaces treated with polished hardeners, prepare the surface using BestCorros before applying BestPrimer EP702.

Mixing:

  • Start the mixer or stirring paddle, then slowly add component A into component B (in the correct ratio) while mixing at a speed of 300–400 rpm.

  • The minimum mixing time is 3 minutes, or longer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Allow the material to stand for approximately 5 minutes, then remix before application.

Application:

  • Apply BestPrimer EP702 evenly over the entire surface using a brush, short-nap roller, or spray equipment at a coverage rate of 0.10 - 0.25 kg/m² per coat.

  • Before applying the second coat or subsequent topcoats, ensure the previous coat is completely dry (non-tacky).

Notes:

  • Do not exceed a consumption rate of 0.40 kg/m² under any circumstances.

  • Ensure proper ventilation during application. Avoid rain and direct sunlight before the material has fully cured.

  • Do not use material that has exceeded its pot life.

CLEANING:

  • Clean tools with water and soap before the material cures.

SAFETY:

  • Both components are non-hazardous and non-flammable but may cause irritation to sensitive skin. Wear protective gloves, masks, and safety goggles during application.

  • In case of contact with eyes, nose, mouth, etc., rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility.
