BestPrimer EP701

Solvent-based epoxy primer, two components

Advantages:

  • High penetration, enabling deep bonding into the material.

  • Bonds well with all material surfaces, including metal.

  • Improves aesthetics and significantly saves material for the subsequent finish coat.

  • High resistance to alkalis and aggressive corrosion.

  • Easy to apply with common tools such as brushes, rollers and spray guns, etc.

  • Long workable time, easy to apply and avoids material waste.

  • Low material consumption, making it very economical and efficient.

  • Can be diluted with solvent to adjust the viscosity to suit each specific application.

Applications

  • BestPrimer EP701 has low viscosity and high penetration, so it is used to create an interface primer between surfaces to be protected and epoxy-based BestCoat protective paints, increasing adhesion strength.

  • BestPrimer EP701 can be applied to concrete floors and bases, cement render, fiber-cement cladding panels, epoxy mortar, etc., for factories, warehouses, parking garages, etc.

Advantages

  • High penetration, enabling deep bonding into the material.

  • Bonds well with all material surfaces, including metal.

  • Improves aesthetics and significantly saves material for the subsequent finish coat.

  • High resistance to alkalis and aggressive corrosion.

  • Easy to apply with common tools such as brushes, rollers and spray guns, etc.

  • Long workable time, easy to apply and avoids material waste.

  • Low material consumption, making it very economical and efficient.

  • Can be diluted with solvent to adjust the viscosity to suit each specific application.

Application instruction

Surface preparation:

  • The surface must reach the minimum strength (compressive strength ≥ 20 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa). The base surface must be flat, dense and dry (maximum floor moisture 4%); impurities, debris and dust must be cleaned as required.

Coating system:

  • For highly absorbent and friable surfaces, apply at least 2 primer coats before applying BestCoat-line paints.

  • For flat, dense surfaces with medium roughness, only one coat of BestPrimer EP701 is needed after the surface has been cleaned by suitable means.

  • For surfaces previously treated with a hardener, dilute BestPrimer EP701 with 10-15% BestThinner SC01 before application.

  • To achieve high aesthetics and the required mechanical properties, the surface should be coated with at least 01 coat of BestPrimer EP701 and 02 finish coats, or one self-leveling coat of the BestCoat range.

Mixing:

  • Add component B into component A at the specified ratio. Use an electric mixer or a dedicated mixing machine (300 to 400 rpm) to mix for about 3 minutes or longer until homogeneous. Let the material stand for at least 10 ÷ 15 minutes and re-mix before application.

Application:

  • Can be applied with a brush, short-nap roller or pressure spray gun.

Notes:

  • Do not use material that has exceeded its working time.

  • The work area must be well-ventilated and application should proceed from the upwind direction.

  • Do not smoke throughout the application of the product.

Cleaning:

  • Use BestThinner SC01 to clean tools immediately after use and before the paint starts to cure.

Safety guidance:

  • Both components are hazardous and flammable and may cause irritation to sensitive skin. Wear gloves, a mask and safety goggles during application. Avoid direct skin contact with the product.

  • If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.

  • Keep away from fire, electric sparks and heat sources during application.
