Applications

  • BestPrimer EP601 has low viscosity and high penetration, making it suitable for use as a primer between surfaces requiring protection and BestCoat epoxy-based protective coatings to enhance adhesion.

  • BestPrimer EP601 can be applied to concrete floors, cementitious screeds, fiber cement panels, epoxy mortars, etc., in factories, warehouses, parking garages, and more.

Advantages

Application instruction

SURFACE PREPARATION:

  • The substrate must meet the minimum strength requirements (compressive strength ≥ 20 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa).

  • The surface must be level, sound, and dry (maximum moisture content of 4%). All contaminants, debris, and dust must be properly removed.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Floor coating system:

  • For highly absorbent or weak substrates, apply at least 2 coats of primer before applying BestCoat systems.

  • For smooth, dense substrates with moderate roughness, apply 1 coat of BestPrimer EP601 after proper surface preparation.

  • For surfaces treated with hardeners, dilute BestPrimer EP601 with 10–15% BestThinner SC01 before application.

  • To achieve high aesthetics and required mechanical properties, the surface should be coated with at least 1 coat of BestPrimer EP601 and 2 topcoats or one self-leveling coating from the BestCoat range.

Mixing:

  • Before application, components A and B must be thoroughly mixed in the correct ratio using a mixer at a speed of 300–400 rpm.

  • The minimum mixing time is 3 minutes, or longer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.

  • Allow the material to stand for at least 10–15 minutes, then remix before application.

Application:

  • Can be applied using a brush, short-nap roller, or spray equipment.

Notes:

  • Do not use material that has exceeded its pot life.

  • Ensure adequate ventilation during application and work in the direction of airflow.

  • Do not smoke during application.

CLEANING:

  • Use BestThinner SC01 to clean tools immediately after use and before the coating begins to cure.

SAFETY:

  • Both components are classified as hazardous and flammable and may cause allergic reactions on sensitive skin. Wear protective gloves, masks, and safety goggles during application. Avoid direct skin contact.

  • In case of contact with eyes, nose, mouth, etc, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility.

  • Keep away from fire, sparks, and heat sources during application.
