Application instruction

Surface preparation:

General requirements:

  • For highly absorbent and friable surfaces: up to 5% clean water may be added to BestPrimer AC406 before application.

  • For dense surfaces with medium roughness: do not add dilution water during application.

  • For power-floated surfaces: the surface should be roughened and thoroughly cleaned before using BestPrimer AC406.

Substrate conditions:

  • The concrete (or render) must reach compressive and tensile strengths suitable for the actual service use of the work item.

  • The surface must be free of standing surface water; ponded areas must be wiped dry with a clean cloth.

  • Impurities, debris, dust, oil, grease, moss/algae and mold, etc. must be cleaned as required.

Application procedure:

  • Use a brush, roller or spray gun to apply one coat of BestPrimer AC406 over the entire surface at 0.10 ÷ 0.20 kg/m² (depending on surface condition). For best results, ensure the product is distributed evenly with no missed areas.

  • Before applying the next material layer, ensure the primer has fully dried (transparent, hard and no longer tacky).

Notes:

  • Do not let the product pond on the surface. Re-check the surface 5 to 10 minutes after application. If the product has not turned transparent (still milky) in ponded spots, spread it thin with a roller or brush.

  • The work area must be well-ventilated.

  • Stir or shake the product well before use.

Cleaning:

  • Use water and soap to clean tools immediately after use and before the product cures.

Safety guidance:

  • BestPrimer AC406 is non-hazardous and non-flammable. However, it may cause irritation to sensitive skin on prolonged contact. Wear gloves, a mask and safety goggles during application.

  • If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.
