SURFACE PREPARATION

• The concrete surface must be clean, hard, and sound, and cleaned of grease, dirt, moss, excess cement, and other contaminants, etc.

• If the surface has low roughness, it must be roughened using suitable mechanical methods before applying the product.

• Saturate the entire surface with clean water but do not allow water to pool on the surface.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

• Waterproofing cement slurry layer or bonding layer between old and new concrete:

Mixing ratio: 01 L BestLatex R126 Saving + 1.5 L water + 5 kg cement = 4.1 litres of slurry.

Application: Add BestLatex R126 Saving into the pre-measured amount of water, use a low-speed mixing paddle to mix evenly, then gradually add the corresponding amount of cement and mix until the mixture is homogeneous.

Use a brush with firm strokes or a pressure spray gun to distribute the material evenly over the entire surface to be waterproofed before applying the waterproofing mortar layer or pouring concrete while the cement slurry – BestLatex R126 Saving layer is still wet.

• Waterproofing render mortar layer:

Mixing ratio: 01 L BestLatex R126 Saving + 4.5 L water + 9 kg cement + 27 kg dry sand = 41.5 kg of mortar.

Application: Apply the waterproofing mortar layer while the waterproofing slurry layer is still wet.

Note: BestLatex R126 Saving must always be used together with cement; it should not be used alone as an independent bonding and waterproofing agent. The sand used must be clean, free from contaminants or mud, and have a suitable grain size distribution. The cement must not be lumpy or past its expiration date.
