BestLatex R126

BestLatex R126 is used in the following applications:

• Old-to-new concrete bonding coat, treating construction joints and cold joints, etc.

• Waterproofing coat for concrete, render and fired-brick surfaces, etc.

• Surface waterproofing for toilet floors, gutters, rooftops, basements, etc.

• Repair and thin patching mortar for concrete or surface finishing.

• Abrasion-resistant floor screed mortar.

• Waterproofing material for masonry, plastering and tile-adhesive mortar, etc.

• Increases surface waterproofing for the bonding slurry and the cement-sand mortar system.

• Significantly increases material bonding strength and the bond between old and new concrete.

• Reduces shrinkage, limits cracking, increases flexibility and elasticity of the cement-sand mortar system.

• Increases chemical corrosion resistance and mechanical abrasion resistance compared with traditional cement materials.

• Suitable for making patching and thin repair layers on defective surfaces.

• Alkali-resistant and withstands UV degradation.

• Non-toxic and does not pollute the environment.

• Meets the requirements for waterproofing domestic water tanks.

Surface preparation:

• The concrete surface must be clean, hard and solid, and cleaned of oil, grease, dust, moss/mold, excess cement and other impurities, etc.

• If the surface has low roughness, it must be roughened by suitable mechanical means before applying the product.

• Saturate the entire surface with clean water, but do not leave standing puddles on the surface.

Waterproof bonding slurry or old-to-new concrete bonding coat:

• Mixing ratio: 01 liter BestLatex R126 + 1.5 liters water + 05 kg cement = 4.1 liters of bonding slurry.

• Application: Add the cement into the pre-measured BestLatex R126 and water mixture and stir until homogeneous. Apply the bonding slurry at a thickness of 1 - 2 mm onto the pre-saturated surface, then place new concrete or apply the waterproof mortar while the cement-BestLatex R126 slurry is still wet.

Waterproof rendering mortar:

• Mixing ratio: 1 liter BestLatex R126 + 4.5 liters water + 09 kg cement + 27 kg sand = 41.5 kg of mortar.

• Application: Using a trowel or steel float, firmly apply a mortar layer 1 ÷ 2 cm thick (as required) onto the freshly applied (still wet) waterproof bonding slurry. If the bonding slurry has dried, re-apply it before applying the waterproof rendering mortar.

Notes:

• BestLatex R126 must always be used together with cement; it should not be used alone as a standalone bonding and waterproofing agent. The sand used must be clean, free of impurities or mud and have a suitable particle-size distribution. The cement must not be lumpy or past its shelf life.

Cleaning:

• Clean equipment and tools with clean water after application and before the material cures.

Safety guidance:

• The product may cause irritation to sensitive skin on prolonged contact. Wear a mask, gloves and safety goggles when using the product.

• If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.

• Avoid letting the product contact food or household items. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of excess product at locations designated by local regulations.
