BestLatex R114
New to old concrete bonding and water-proofing agent
Advantages:
Excellent bonding and adhesion.
Greatly reduces volumetric shrinkage during cement curing.
Increases the flexibility and elasticity of cement-sand mortar.
Maximizes waterproofing for surfaces frequently in contact with water.
Increases resistance to chemical corrosion and mechanical abrasion.
Chemically and physically stable. BestLatex R114 is a non-reversible polymer emulsion system; after application, it develops a film bonding network with silicate-based surfaces it contacts, so it does not revert to its previous emulsion form, even in highly alkaline environments.
Non-toxic once cured, so it can be used for waterproof mortars in direct contact with domestic water.
Increases the strength of floor rendering layers.
Suitable for making patching and repair mortar where a thin finishing layer is needed.

Applications
BestLatex R114 is used in the following applications:
Bonding slurry coat (for waterproofing or bonding old-to-new concrete).
Thin patching/repair mortar for surface finishing.
Waterproof rendering mortar.
Abrasion-resistant floor screed.
Concrete repair mortar.
Abrasion-resistant topping.
Tile adhesive mortar.

Application instruction
Surface preparation:
The concrete surface must be clean, hard and solid, and cleaned of oil, grease, dust, moss/mold, excess cement and other impurities, etc.
If the surface has low roughness, it must be roughened by suitable mechanical means before applying the product.
Saturate the entire surface with clean water, but do not leave standing puddles on the surface.
Waterproof bonding slurry or old-to-new concrete bonding coat:
Mixing ratio: 01 liter BestLatex R114 + 01 liter water + 04 kg cement = 3.3 liters of bonding slurry.
Application: Add the cement into the pre-measured BestLatex R114 and water mixture and stir until homogeneous. Apply the bonding slurry at a thickness of 1 - 2 mm onto the pre-saturated surface, then place new concrete or apply the waterproof mortar while the cement-BestLatex R114 slurry is still wet.
Waterproof rendering mortar:
Mixing ratio: 01 liter BestLatex R114 + 03 liters water + 6.5 kg cement + 19.5 kg sand = 30 kg of mortar.
Application: Using a trowel or steel float, firmly apply a mortar layer 1 ÷ 2 cm thick (as required) onto the freshly applied (still wet) waterproof bonding slurry. If the bonding slurry has dried, re-apply it before applying the waterproof rendering mortar.
Notes:
BestLatex R114 must always be used together with cement; it should not be used alone as a standalone bonding and waterproofing agent. The sand used must be clean, free of impurities or mud and have a suitable particle-size distribution. The cement must not be lumpy or past its shelf life.
Cleaning:
Clean equipment and tools with clean water after application and before the material cures.
Safety guidance:
The product may cause irritation to sensitive skin on prolonged contact. Wear a mask, gloves and safety goggles when using the product.
If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.
Avoid letting the product contact food or household items. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of excess product at locations designated by local regulations.
