Applications
BestCoat EP706 is used for protective coating of surfaces with special requirements such as:
Industrial factory floors, chemical warehouses, pharmaceutical and food processing plants, electronics assembly facilities, garages, etc. where high load-bearing capacity is required.
Equipment and storage tanks with high requirements for abrasion resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and aggressive-environment resistance, or meeting high food-safety hygiene standards.
BestCoat EP706 can be applied directly onto metal, concrete, cement render, fiber-cement cladding panels, epoxy mortar, wood, etc.
Advantages
High strength, good bonding, crack-resistant and peel-resistant.
Resistant to abrasion and chemicals, durable in aggressive environments.
High gloss, easy to clean and scrub, prevents the growth of microorganisms and mold.
High coverage, easy to apply, saving considerable material and labor.
Solvent-free, non-flammable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
Meets food and pharmaceutical safety and hygiene standards.
Application instruction
Surface preparation:
For concrete surfaces: compressive strength ≥ 20 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa. The surface must be flat, dense, dry (maximum moisture 4%); impurities, debris and dust must be cleaned as required.
For metal surfaces: must be free of rust, oil, grease or other impurities such as dust and water, etc.
Coating system:
For concrete, render, natural stone and artificial stone surfaces:
01 coat of a suitable BestPrimer epoxy or polyurethane: 0.10 – 0.25 kg/m²/coat (depending on surface condition).
02 coats of BestCoat EP706: 0.10 – 0.25 kg/m²/coat (depending on surface condition).
For metal surfaces: 02 coats of BestCoat EP706: 0.10 – 0.25 kg/m²/coat.
Mixing:
Add component B into component A at the specified ratio. Use an electric mixer or a dedicated mixing machine (300 to 500 rpm) to mix the material for about 3 minutes or longer until the mixture is homogeneous. Subdivide the mixed batch or pour all the product onto the floor immediately after thorough mixing.
Application:
Can be applied with a brush, short-nap roller or pressure spray gun.
Notes:
The larger the mixed quantity, the shorter the workable time. The batch may be subdivided to ensure the product's workable time matches the application schedule.
From the second coat onward, if the previous coat's waiting time has exceeded the maximum overcoat interval, the surface must be roughened by mechanical means.
Do not use paint that has exceeded its workable time and has started to cure.
When subdividing into smaller portions, stir component A well before weighing.
Cleaning:
Use BestThinner SC-01 to clean tools immediately after application and before the mixture starts to cure.
Safety guidance:
Both components are non-hazardous and non-flammable. However, component B is alkaline and may cause irritation to sensitive skin on prolonged contact. Wear gloves, a mask and safety goggles when using the product.
If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.
Dispose of excess material at locations designated by local regulations.
