Applications
BestCoaltar EP720 serves as a protective and waterproof coating for both the interior and exterior surfaces of concrete and steel structures buried in soil or frequently exposed to water, chemicals and waste, such as:
Wastewater treatment systems, industrial waste and domestic waste such as ditches, drainage culverts, storage tanks, treatment tanks, etc.
Foundations, ground beams and basements in areas with high corrosion from chemicals, seawater or sulphate attack.
Hydraulic steel structures frequently exposed to strong corrosive agents.
Chemical industry, ports and wharves, coastal construction works, etc.
BestCoaltar EP720 is not suitable for places in direct contact with drinking water, food or livestock, etc.

Application instruction
Surface preparation:
The concrete or steel surface must be dry, solid and free of oil, grease, dust, rust, moss, algae and mold. Poorly bonded patches or old materials must be completely chipped away.
Concrete surface: compressive strength ≥ 20 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa. The surface must be flat, dense and dry, with a maximum allowable moisture content of 4% (if a moisture-barrier primer BestPrimer EP603 or BestPrimer EP703 is not used).
For highly absorbent and friable concrete surfaces, or highly glossy steel surfaces, treat with BestPrimer EP601 or BestPrimer EP701 primer before applying BestCoaltar EP720.
Mixing:
Use a slow-speed electric or pneumatic mixer (400 ÷ 500 rpm) to mix component A well before adding all of component B into component A. Continue mixing and move the blade up and down several times to turn over the mixture until homogeneous (mixing time 3 ÷ 5 minutes).
For the first coat on concrete surfaces, dilute with about 3 ÷ 5% BestThinner SC-01 (by weight) to increase deep penetration into the material surface.
Application:
Use a brush, short-nap roller or pressure spray gun to distribute the material evenly over the entire surface to be treated.
When applying the second coat, apply in a direction perpendicular to the first coat.
The waiting time between two consecutive coats can be from 24 hours to 3 days, depending on the ambient conditions and temperature; monitor the actual curing state of the material to decide the appropriate time for the next coat.
Within 24 hours of application, avoid direct contact of the material with rainwater or mechanical impact.
Cleaning:
Use a dry cloth or soft paper to wipe equipment and tools first, then use BestThinner SC-01 for the final cleaning.
Safety guidance:
Both components are hazardous, flammable and may cause allergic reactions on direct skin contact. When applying, gloves, a mask and safety goggles are mandatory.
If splashed into the eyes, nose or mouth, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water several times before going to the nearest medical facility for timely and proper treatment.
Ventilate the application area with suitable ventilation fans.
Never let the product or the area being worked on come into direct contact with open flames or heat sources.
Dispose of excess product at locations designated by local regulations to ensure no impact on the surrounding environment.
